GIS day at UNC brought together students, faculty, and staff for a series of events exploring how geographic information can advance research and policy. Ellen Currin, a Geography major, won first place in one of the day’s events – the Innovative Use of GIS competition. Ellen will also receive the G. Herbert Stout Award for innovative use of GIS in the bi-annual NC GIS conference in 2015. The competition was co-sponsored by UNC Davis Library and the Department of Geography.
