Colloquium Event: Dr Bhattacharjee ”Reproduction, a shift from home to the market: The Story of Commercial Surrogacy in India”

A departmental welcome for Dr. Dalia Bhattacharjee.

Dr Bhattacharjee is visiting UNC for 2-years as a Fulbright postdoctoral scholar.

Title of the talk: Reproduction, a shift from home to the market: The Story of Commercial Surrogacy in India.

Bio: Dalia Bhattacharjee received her PhD in social sciences from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali, India. Her research is an ethnographic study focusing on the lived experiences of the women working as surrogate mothers in India. She is a Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Geography, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (2021-2023).
