The classic UNC map contest, sponsored by Geography and Environment department and UNC Library, as usual, held on GIS Day, which is Nov 20, 2024.

The following winners were picked by the event participants, and a panel of six GIS experts.

Sidney Hipp, a student from Environment, Ecology, and Energy major, received first place in today’s UNC GIS Day map contest. Her submission is an online map: sidneyhipp.projects.earthengine.app/view/gazacropl

Marcos Gregorio, a student from Environmental Science and Portuguese major, received second place in today’s UNC GIS Day map contest. His map submission is “Projected Bus Effectiveness After Implementing the 2029 BRT Project”.

Mark Chilton, a student from GISci Graduate Certificate Program, received 3rd place for his online map: registerchilton.github.io/Geography456//
