Kriddie Whitmore received a Student Research Grant from the Geological Society of America. Kriddie also received ‘outstanding mention’ for exceptional merit – one of the top 10 proposals among 348 winners. Kriddie’s research proposal was titled “Estimating Surface Area of Small Wetlands in a High-Altitude Tropical Grassland.” Kriddie is a third-year Ph.D. student in the Carbonshed Lab. She holds a M.S. in forestry from Virginia Tech, and double major in biology/geology from Guilford College.
