Geography PhD student Matt Dannenberg has been awarded the Graduate School’s Dissertation Completion Fellowship for the academic year 2015-2016. Matt’s dissertation title is “Estimating Terrestrial Primary Production through Integration of Remote Sensing and Dendrochronology.” Matt is co-advised by Dr. Erika Wise and Dr. Conghe Song.

Geography PhD student Willie Wright has been awarded the Graduate School’s Off-Campus Dissertation Fellowship for Fall 2015 in support of his dissertation research, “Free the Land!”: Exploring the Geographical, Political, and Cultural Legacies of the Republic of New Afrika in Detroit and Jackson. Willie is co-advised by Dr. Altha Cravey and Dr. Alvaro Reyes.

Geography PhD student Johnathan Sugg has been awarded the Graduate School’s Summer Research Fellowship for his project: “Mountain Hydroclimate Variability: Linkages Between Atmospheric Circulation and the Spatial Pattern of Precipitation”. Johnathan is advised by Dr. Chip Konrad.
